The DD8L is a desiccant dehumidifier, this means that it does not have a compressor or coiling coils, making it lighter, quieter and more energy efficient than a traditional dehumidifier.

High Energy Saving Model

When the target relative humidity has been reached the fan will stop after 5 minutes to save energy. But we want to maintain accurate dehumidification so that the dehumidifier knows when to turn back on and maintains the correct relative humidity in the room. Therefore the dehumidifier wakes up every 30 minutes, turns on it's fan and checks the relative humidity. If the relative humidity is above the target it then dehumidifies, if the relative humidity is lower than the target it then goes back to sleep for another 30 minutes.

This will cause no noticeable effect on the drying of the room but will save you roughly 50% of the already excellent running costs.
